Elite Tennis Teaching Method

What is the Elite Tennis Teaching Method by Chris Schoop?

This is a methodical approach to developing teaching methods that separate you from the average teacher and move you into an elite category of instructor that, can not only help your students develop faster and with greater fundamentals, but also will open up far more opportunities for you to make more money, retain your current clients, increase word of mouth, create opportunities for work at clubs, and guarantee a life-long, lucrative career in tennis.

Are you a candidate for this program?

The answer is yes if you are very serious about making your living/career in teaching/coaching tennis. It is NOT for you if teaching is something for you to do part-time, while you are waiting or hoping for another career to take off.

This is a serious, intensive program intended for those who are building their brand as an instructor and who are willing to do what it takes make their career in tennis.

The program is a one-day, 6-hour program. We cover the following topics:

  • presentation of yourself (clothing, equipment, hygiene, etc)

  • building your brand through website and social media

  • “preparing” for each lesson and understanding the uniqueness of each session

  • listening to your students`

  • building your clientele

  • making the transition from a “selfish” player to a”selfless” coach

  • how to get work at clubs

  • the importance of saying “yes” to work

  • understanding that you are not 9-5

  • using all the tools available

  • job placement

  • how you know when to make major stroke changes

  • the importance of not being weird

  • the importance of not being controversial

  • determining your hourly rate

  • working effectively with children and young players

  • why working with children can be very lucrative

  • why you should never underestimate the learning capabilities of young children

  • the importance of differentiating age groups and levels

How is this different from the USPTA or USPTR?

These organizations are great, and necessary. The insurance they provide as well as the access to great seminars from the best teachers in the country. They don’t, however, offer the following:

  • the skills to essentially write your own ticket for whatever work you want to do in the tennis world

  • job placement by putting you in direct contact with tennis directors, clubs, schools, and camps

  • direct training for those who have a high level of playing skill as well as teaching experience

Where is this program held?

Currently I run this from Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks in Southern California, although I hope to bring it to cities and clubs across the country very soon.
